From Riyadh to the World: A Unified Message

The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) delegates had chosen the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host the World Expo in 2030, but needed to see and approve the country’s roadmap to the event. The Kingdom needed to effectively demonstrate it had the capacity to deliver a world-class exhibition, and chose to set a tight deadline for its registration so it could start recruiting participants during the fast-approaching World Expo in Osaka.

Think Green was again tapped by the Kingdom to design materials and presentations that brought its theoretical concepts to life, demonstrated its practical and logistical plans BIE delegates, and demonstrate the accessibility and flexibility it could offer participants. Our challenge was to turn the Kingdom’s words into emotive presentations and beautiful designs under tight deadlines.

Given our experience with World Expo participant countries and prior design projects with sovereign nations, Think Green partnered with the Kingdom to create the digital and print candidacy materials that optimally positioned it to host a forward-thinking World Expo.

Incentivizing Action Through Meaningful Engagement

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sits the center of the Arab and Islamic worlds. Well-connected to the global community and economy, it is simultaneously rich in culture and heritage while being an exemplar of progress. Its history and international standing, in conjunction with its ambitious plans as part of its Vision 2030 development, gave us a particularly exciting canvas on which to build the designs for the dossier and BIE official meetings as part of the Expo 2030 Riyadh registration process.

Designing an Evocative Dossier

The Registration Dossier for Expo 2030 Riyadh stands as the official document that participant countries, approved organizations, and partners and vendors will use as their roadmap to understand and prepare for the World Expo in 2030. As such, the dossier has to hold a broad appeal for a multitude of different stakeholders with a wide variety of backgrounds. It must be understood by heads of state and construction contractors alike, while conveying a sense of the awe and excitement that underlies the incredible vision of the Kingdom.

During the Kingdom’s presentations and general assemblies, stakeholders had been introduced to the Bid book. The dossier is meant to expand on the vision of the bid book to target a wider audience and convey not just the Kingdom’s visionary ideas, but also tangible and practical directives to ensure all stakeholders will be on the same page throughout the entire lifecycle of the expo, from planning and construction through to the operation of the Expo and the legacy period.

BIE Official Presentations: General Assemblies and Executive Commissions

The Kingdom planned a series of events as part of its campaign to gather support from BIE delegates and asked Think Green to help it build trust and confidence among voting countries. The goal of the seminars was to demonstrate the Kingdom’s ability to host world-class events and drive an emotional connection between the Kingdom and the 180 countries.

Our role was to provide well-designed presentations that effectively conveyed the key messages in an overwhelmingly clear manner but in our signature minimalist style. We focused on building emotional roadmaps to structure the presentations to have maximum impact from both an informational and design perspective.

Delivering Digital Pathways

Was selected among prestigious international agencies to create an emblematic video representing the ambitious vision and the candidacy global messages of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The challenge was to transition from vision to execution. Delegates had reviewed presentations and the Bid Book, but now they needed to see real progress and assess Saudi Arabia’s ability to deliver. It was no longer just about outlining ambitions. The focus was on demonstrating, through concrete actions and direct engagement, that the Kingdom had the expertise, infrastructure, and organizational strength to successfully host a world-class Expo.

Let’s start something together
